Description

The Full Volume is a wide-section MTB rim built around a straightforward purpose: properly supporting a wide tyre. At 35mm internal width it beds tyres of 2.4 inches and above correctly, allowing them to develop their intended profile, run at appropriate pressures, and behave as designed. It offers decent impact resistance and decent compliance — it is not a rim engineered to withstand the most punishing enduro or e-bike use, but it is a reliable, durable platform for trail and all-mountain riding with larger volume rubber, and it does that well.

The alloy is 6066-T6, a stronger and more fatigue-resistant material than the 6061 alloy used in many rims at this price point. 6066 has better yield strength and work-hardens more effectively, which translates into a rim that holds its shape and integrity over time under the kind of repeated loading that wide-tyre MTB use involves. The rim is welded rather than pinned, which gives a more consistent joint and a cleaner spoke bed. Internal anodising protects the inner channel from moisture and tubeless sealant — a detail that matters on any rim used year-round in damp conditions with sealant inside.

At 23mm deep the Full Volume is a shallow-profile rim. That is appropriate for the application — MTB and trail riding places a premium on strength and tyre compatibility over aerodynamics, and a shallower rim is more compliant vertically, which on rough terrain is a practical advantage rather than a compromise.

Tubeless compatible throughout. Available in 650b and 700c, 28h and 32h.

For tyres up to 2.3 inches, the DCR XC/AM is the more appropriate choice. For heavier duty applications — e-bike, enduro, or riders who need maximum impact resistance as a priority — the DCR E-bike Downhill range is better suited.
